If you're interested in commissioning an original painting, read the overview below. You can e-mail me with questions/inquires at allysa.rebar[at]gmail.com, or use the form below.
I paint in two styles - both can be seen in my portfolio.
1. Paintings on handmade panels with exposed wood grain (some size restrictions)
2. Paintings on pre-made panels with a fully painted background (more sizes available)
TYPES OF COMMISSIONS
I do NOT paint architecture, people, dinosaurs, mythical creatures, or words.
I DO paint nature - plants, wildlife, bones, landscapes, some still life subjects, and will consider pet portraits.
SUBJECTS
The completion deadline depends on painting size, complexity, other active projects, and how often my toddler is sick. Once we discuss your piece, I can provide an approximate timeline. For example, a 12x18" painting can take 3 weeks once a sketch is approved. The framing and varnishing process can take ~2 weeks after the painting is complete.
TIMELINE
Below are some common commission sizes and their prices. Please note that these prices reflect the FRAMED price. Frames are solid black walnut. Handmade panels (exposed wood) must be framed by the artist, but pre-made panels can go unframed. I'm happy to provide a more extensive pricing list. This price does not include shipping.
PRICING
8x10" $380
11x14" $600
12 x 18" $830
I can estimate shipping based on your address and the approximate size of a packed painting beforehand if you wish. The final shipping cost will be calculated with your specific painting once its packed. You will receive tracking information. I also re-use as much packing material as I can do reduce waste, but I pack them well and add insurance. If you are local or nearby, we can chat about delivery or pick-up instead.
SHIPPING
1. Fill out the form below or e-mail me directly with as many details as you would like about your possible commission (budget, size, colors, subject matter).
2. Should you wish to proceed after we determine size and price, I will send you a contract and require a 25% deposit.
3. I will provide a small sketch to narrow down composition details, though I usually do not include color unless you request it.
4. Once the small sketch is approved, I will create a full size sketch with added detail.
5. Once that is approved, I can start painting! If you want updates along the way, I am happy to provide pictures.
6. When the painting is complete, I send a finished image to ensure no further minor adjustments need to be made.
7. If you're happy, I start the varnishing and framing process.
8. Once its cured, I pack it, calculate shipping costs, and require the remaining 75% before shipping.
